What is Gutenberg?

Three stages of Gutenberg Evolution

Gutenberg 101: The Blocks

As we have mentioned before, Gutenberg is dependent on plugin blocks while enabling the content structure of your website. In small MCE, you had only one edit field.

The block contains any type of website content and can be retained by the third-party plugins provided by the compatible third-party plugins. Some people call this universal block as 'Gutenblox'. Anyway, this is just a nice name.

So what can Gutenberg block be? Any part of the beautiful material can make it in the block. You can create blocks in Gutenberg:

• Text.


• Image.


• Tables


• buttons (eg 'read more').


• Embedded video content


• Widgets

What's more, third-party plugins will have an opportunity to recognize custom blocks that take advantage of plugin functionality in Gutenberg.

You can forget the idea of adding shortcodes, widgets, and a customized way to add content to your WordPress website. Once Gutenberg completes Stage 1, it will deliver the same content creation experience, in which all types of content will be added and handled with the help of blocks.

Visitors to the website block? Since the post/page is in the editorial part of the editor, the blocks are absent from the page/post browser output. Similarly, the HTML version of the block's content is not directly represented. This is the only Gutenberg editor who can correctly detect and manipulate the block.

Create a sample post

4. Last but not least, you need to embed a YouTube video. Again, start creating new blocks. At this time, navigate to the 'Embed' tab. Next, click on 'YouTube'. 5. Once you press the 'Publish' button on the right, your sample is available on the frontend of the Gutenberg Post site.
