How to Increase Website Traffic

One of the most difficult aspects of website or blog driving is increasing your traffic. You have created a great website, have written your best content, but when you check your analysis data, you realize that you get only a few visitors every day. Why is this happening? Just because your web site promotion methods failed. Creating a website is one thing, but encouraging it is a completely different concept.

Website promotion is challenging but rewarding. Using the right internet marketing techniques, you can bring more traffic to your website and fulfill its purpose.

Before thinking about what you should do and what you should not do to increase your website visitors, think about it: Internet is a pool of unlimited users that are increasing day by day and you need only a small part of your goal to achieve goals

In 2012 only Google had more than 1.4 trillion searches, Facebook had more than 800 million active users, Twitter had 500 million users, and the list was on and off and running.

In other words, unlike the real world (offline world), your potential customers, visitors, fans in the online world are endless and just one click away from visiting your website.

They do not need to walk or drive in your website or e-commerce store, do not have to pay anything to visit them and all you have to do is keep your website in front of the mouse arrow.

Fortunately, there are many ways to do this and I will discuss this post.

How to advertise your website?

It would be more beneficial for you to first discuss how to advertise your website, especially if you are reading the 'magic' promotion form broadcasted on the Internet. In short, stay away from:

  • Link building plans or networks

  • To purchase traffic

  • To buy Facebook or Twitter fans and followers

  • Guest postings for links only

It is important to note that you do not succeed successfully on a Super Dopper website (for example, like Pinterest). There will be time and effort to build your readability or customer support and 'quick fix' methods will not provide any long term benefits.

What is the ever risk of using any of the above methods?

  • You will earn money without taking your actual advantage

  • More links building or guest sending penalties to my punishment (the ability to lose your traffic through Google and all your search engine traffic and increase your traffic through legitimate media)

Facebook can be penalized for purchasing Facebook favorites.

  • You do not have a clear picture of the actual value of your web site and what it can naturally do in terms of traffic and visits.

So, if the above methods are not working then how can I increase the number of visitors coming to my website? This funny part starts ...

The power of internet marketing

The most popular way to promote your website

There are many sources of traffic (including search engine traffic) but many webmasters failed to use them properly. Yes, search engine traffic is very important but this is not the only way to promote your website.

In fact, if you use other traffic sources effectively then you are more likely to increase your search engine traffic.

Source of traffic

Generally the main source of Internet traffic:

  • Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, and Bing)

  • Social Media Networks (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Tumblers, StumbleUpon, etc.)

  • Mobile Media (Smartphone, iPad, Android Tablet, etc., Windows 8 Tablet, etc.)

  • Chrome App Store

  • Amazon Kindle

  • Windows 8 App Store

  • YouTube

  • SlideShare

  • Google+ Local pages

  • Paid Advertising (Google AdWords, Facebook Ads)

  • RSS Feeds

  • Guest posting for traffic

  • Offline sources (business cards)

Below I will explain how I personally used many of the above sources and how I can help your SEO efforts, increase your website's exposure and get more search engine traffic.

Search engines: There are 3 ways to increase your own search engine traffic.

The first and most important step is to optimize your web site for search engines and second by obtaining high-quality links from other web sites (either naturally or through careful guest posting).

The third method is to provide new content on a daily basis (or multiple times per day depending on the niche) so as to make more loyal visitors and give search engine crawlers.

I would explain later (in a new post) on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest but for taking now note that social media is a great tool to promote your web site.

Mobile Media: It is estimated by Gartner that by 2015 there will be a mobile device for every person on earth. Modern mobiles (smartphones) are connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi and a direct internet connection and people actually use them to search the Internet, login to Facebook, tweet, etc.

So it is important that you optimize your web site for mobile and make it easy for users.

Chrome App Store: Google Chrome is the most popular browser and millions of users are searching on the internet every day. Chrome also has a Web Store and is a good source of traffic. Read about what you can expect from my experience and traffic benefits here with the Chrome Web Store.

Amazon Kindle: Amazon has made a lot of success with Kindle which went a step further and created its own operating system (Amazon Store) where you can burn books and apps for your Kindle device.

How can you increase your website traffic? You can create a disgusting book and publish it on the Amazon (free) or Kindle app and publish it free on Amazon App Store. Kindle users who want to learn more about your website or products will also visit your web version.

I have reviewed both these methods and they are good sources of traffic but not as good as the Apple Store and Google Play

Windows 8 App Store: Microsoft launches a dedicated app store for Windows 8 devices named "Store" in the release of Windows 8. In the store, you can find Metro style apps (like how Windows 8 works) that you can install on your PC, phone or tablet.

I am currently in the process of creating and submitting a Metro Style app so that I can not give you a number

YouTube and Slideshows: People like videos and slideshows, and in most cases, they prefer those sources to read plain text. Depending on your subject, you can create your own YouTube channel or slideshow and get it from additional sources of traffic.

Google+ Local pages: One of Google's social network features (Google+) features are business pages and specific Google+ Local pages for businesses. Local pages have changed back to Google Places in 2012 and may be another source of traffic.

Paid Advertising: Advertising is a great way to keep your customers. If you run an online shop, you can get a new customer and if you are running a website or blog then you can get a new member and loyal visitor.

Google Adwords and Facebook Ads are two products that I am using on a new website or increase my fan page and followers (more on new posts).

RSS Feeds: RSS is not dead yet many people still use RSS or use their favorite websites to provide information. Websites that help in making a large number of RSS customers take less interest in SEO and other sources of traffic.

Even if you have a Facebook page, a Twitter or a Google+ page, you must also provide your readers (or customers) with RSS feeds. It's embedded in many blogging platforms, so your only job is to have a subscription button visible on your website!

Offline sources: Never underestimate the power of any offline sources. To create brand awareness, promote your website on your business cards, flyers, advertisements, company cars, and other media you use.

Google is not only any source of Internet traffic

I have described all the above methods to help you understand that there is no source of traffic on the Internet. It's one of the best sources of traffic between quality and quantity, but you should never put all your eggs in a basket.

Optimizing your website for a search engine (SEO) is a great way to promote your traffic from Google, Bing, and Yahoo. As an active social media profile, you can visit Facebook, Twitter and Google + and follow the steps above. Create more direct visits.

To increase the traffic to your website, to increase the traffic to your website, you are ready to check and see the best source of traffic for your website, without raising your risk due to your open efforts.
